M37 is the most successful boat in the ORC history, with 3 world championship victories from 2009 to 2014, several Europeans and national titles. The hull lines of the boat are the results of the huge experience in the ORC optimization and complex studies done in collaboration with the CFD specialists.

The deck has been designed to be as more ergonomic as possible either for racing either for cruising.

The interiors layots and the style are the result of the work of young architects who introduced a minimal and modern design keeping an eye on the seagoing features that a boat has to have.

From the structural point of view, the boat has been design to have the right stiffness to withstand the natural loads. The hull has been laminated with an optimized lay-up made of infused unidirectional and biaxial fibers. Different types of core have been used on the different areas of the hull and deck to assure the proper balance between weight and stiffness, for example in the forward area, where there are high slamming loads, a high density core has been used in combination with single skin laminate.

The central structure of the boat is made with a stainless steel frame which is designed to take the high loads deriving from the mast, shrouds and keel and transfer them smoothly to the hull. This frame is connected mechanically to the bulkheads and the surrounding structure and it is also over laminated and tabbed to the hull. The remaining structure of the boat are made by longitudinal and transversal stiffeners containing carbon unidirectional fibers and laminated directly to the hull.

All the bulkheads are made with composite material and they are bonded and tabbed to both hull and deck.

The appendages have been designed for the best hydrodynamic efficiency and they have been optimized with the best CFD techniques. The keel is assembled with a cast iron fin and a lead bulb and it is milled to have the proper designed shape; the keel profiles have been designed and validated with the CFD to have a very high efficiency even if the keel span is short.

The sailing plan has been developed in collaboration with the north sails designers and optimized with the CFD techniques.
