SWAN 65 SPIRIT

THE YACHT
The Boat

The Swan 65 was built between 1972 and 1989. There are 41 vessels designed by ‘Sparkman and Stephens’ and most of all are ketch rigged with only few sloop rigged yachts.

This Swan 65 is one of just four sloops designed by the legendary duo, Sparkman and Stephens. They were justifiably proud of the Swan 65 design. Spirit (then called Orm) was built in 1974 and is hull number 12.Sayula II, a Swan 65 ketch won thefirst edition of the Whitbread Race, a race around the world started in 1973, which is now the Volvo Ocean Race. Sister ship to Spirit, Kings Legend came second in the 1977 Whitbread Race. The current owner has invested much time and money in the renovation of the yacht. This includes the installation of a new carbon mast, carbon winches, new engine, new sails and the latest technologies which have improved the safety and sailing performance while maintaining her charm and classic form.

Designed for world wide voyages, Spirit is able to accommodate up to 6-8 guests in comfort, cruising and 10-12 guests racing. Her cabin configuration consists of 2 double berths, each with heads; a master cabin comprising a double size bed, single bed and ensuite shower room and heads; and the forepeak berth for 2 crew members. Our yacht provides spacious, comfortable living area, great ventilation and plenty of deck space for lounging, dancing and of course, sailing!
