Les Voiles de St Tropez is an amazing rendezvous of yachts. First run twenty-seven years ago as La Nioulargue, the regatta gathers together the most extraordinary modern sailing boats alongside the most beautiful traditional yachts in the early autumn. A host of racers and sailing enthusiasts come from all the corners of the globe to do battle in the bay of Saint-Tropez. The Rolex trophy is awarded to the winner of the Classic Division over 16 metres.

Les Voiles de Saint Tropez 2023

 

Nearly thirty years to the day since the original event, La Nioulargue, Les Voiles de Saint Tropez and the famous bay are continuing to exert their magic over the most beautiful yachts on the planet, classic and modern alike. Organised for the first time in 1999 by the Société Nautique de Saint Tropez, Les Voiles de Saint Tropez will be running their 13th meeting this year.The 2016 edition will of course pay tribute to La Nioulargue, confirming its support of the original spirit of the event: fair play, marine sense and a taste for all things festive. The highlight is the involvement of the Ikra, a 12m JI, which will compete in the first race against the American Swan, Pride. The original race between these two protagonists, which actually gave rise to La Nioulargue, was organised by Patrice de Colmont back in 1981 under the name of "Club 55 Cup", the stake being lunch at Club 55 for the winner. 

 

The event welcomes Maxi yachts, classic boats and modern boats.

Concerning the Maxis: the large modern units, the regattas will start on Sunday October 1, 2023 and will end on Friday October 6, 2023 with a prize giving ceremony on Friday evening.

Concerning modern sailboats (apart from Maxis), the regattas will start from Monday October 2 until Saturday October 7, 2023 inclusive.
Traditional sailboats will be racing from Tuesday October 3 to Saturday October 7, 2023.
Prize giving for modern and Traditional sailboats Sunday October 8 at 11 a.m.

About 250 boats participate in the event.
